What we clean on an industrial site

• Yards and service roads, usually carrying tyre rubber, diesel and hydraulic oil.
• Loading bays and dock levellers, which collect the worst of everything.
• Cladding and elevations, including the high level work.
• Pedestrian routes, walkways and stair access, where the issue is slip risk.
• Bin and compactor areas, where the issue is smell as much as appearance.
• Line marking areas, cleaned around rather than over where the paint is tired.

Tyre rubber and diesel are not dirt

The black polished sheen across a busy yard is rubber bonded onto the surface by heat and weight, mixed with diesel and oil. Water alone does almost nothing to it. It wants a degreaser with real dwell time and then hot water, and on a large yard that is a sequencing exercise as much as a cleaning one, because you cannot treat an area a forklift is about to drive across.

Most industrial enquiries are not about looks. They are about a walkway that has gone green, a ramp that is slick in the wet, or an insurer or auditor asking a question. If that is your driver, tell us, because it changes what we prioritise: pedestrian routes and ramps first, appearance second, and the algae treated rather than just washed so it does not regrow inside a month.

Interceptors, and whether yours is working

A yard carries diesel, hydraulic oil and rubber, so the wash water is genuinely contaminated and it has to reach the interceptor rather than the nearest gully. We will ask where yours is and when it was last emptied, because a full interceptor passes everything straight through and the discharge becomes your problem rather than ours.

Site induction and permits

Most industrial sites want us inducted, and some want a permit to work for anything at height or near live plant. We would rather do that paperwork the week before than lose half a morning at the gate. RAMS, insurance and any COSHH sheets for the products come over in advance.
